About Praventus Health

Western Australia's trusted partner in pre-employment medical screening and workplace injury management.

Who We Are

Praventus is an established provider of workplace injury management services in Perth. Our Health division was built on a simple observation: most workplace injuries are predictable and many are preventable when employers have the right information at the point of hire. We work with employers across mining, construction, manufacturing, aged care, engineering and more, providing quality pre-employment medicals tailored to the specific roles, risks and requirements of each industry.

Our Philosophy

We call it the upstream investment principle. The cost of a pre-employment medical is always a fraction of what a poorly matched hire can cost in injury management, early intervention and workers’ compensation premiums. Our tiered PEM approach allows you to choose the right level of medical and functional screening for each role. By identifying potential risks early, you can make more informed hiring decisions and help reduce the likelihood of costly workplace injuries and claims down the track.

Screening Built Around Your Industry

Every industry has different demands, risks and requirements. That is why our pre-employment medicals are built around the roles your people actually perform, giving you relevant results that help identify risk early and support safer, more informed hiring decisions.

Mining & Mining Services

Workers in mining and mining services face extreme physical demands, remote environments, and high-consequence safety requirements. Our screening for this sector includes comprehensive musculoskeletal assessment, functional capacity evaluation, audiometry, drug and alcohol testing, and cardiovascular screening — giving you the clearest possible picture of candidate fitness before they set foot on site.

Building & Construction

Construction roles demand physical resilience, sharp vision, and the capacity to work at height or in confined spaces. We screen for functional strength and mobility, vision and colour perception, respiratory function, and pre existing injuries that could be aggravated by the physical demands of the site.

Manufacturing

Repetitive motion, manual handling, and sustained physical output are the norm in manufacturing environments. Our screening for this sector focuses on musculoskeletal health, upper limb function, and the identification of risk factors that could contribute to early soft tissue injury or aggravation claims.

Aged Care

Aged care workers are at high risk of manual handling injuries, particularly involving the back and shoulders. Our screening identifies physical limitations and pre-existing conditions before placement, supporting safer role matching and reducing the frequency of early compensation claims in this high-turnover sector.

Engineering & Trade

From electrical trades to heavy machinery operation, engineering roles require combination of physical capability and sensory acuity. We assess functional capacity, hearing, vision, and pre-existing injury history to ensure candidates are fit for the specific demands of their trade.

Retail

While lower in physical risk than heavy industry, retail roles still involve prolonged standing, manual handling, and customer facing demands. Our Essential and Professional tiers provide cost-effective screening to confirm fitness, meet compliance obligations, and identify any pre existing conditions that may be relevant to the role.
